Going Homeless for the Homeless 2007 Challenge - the journey!

The journey will take 21 days, with Brian and Peter tandem cycling over 1000 miles between Stockport and Beziers, including a 30 mile hazardous channel crossing in their 2-man K2 kayak.

Throughout France, they hope to visit:
Le Secours Populaire, Les Amis des Pauvres, Le Samu de Paris and Les Restos du Coeur, which are similar organizations to the Wellspring helping the homeless through voluntary support.

On average Peter and Brian plan to cycle 60 miles a day, with no rest days scheduled other than time to visit the homeless centers on route.

Going Homeless For The Homeless

As with previous ventures by Brian and Peter, they will not pre-book and arrange accommodation along their journey, and where necessary will resort to the same as the homeless in having to find opportune places to rest, feed and drink along their journey.

As a sponsored event, Brian and Peter aim to incur no costs along their route, ensuring all donations go directly into the Building Fund for the Wellspring Center to secure its future in a new building.

Tracing their progress

The diary page will be used to record the journey progress once they've departed. This will include comments, accounts of the tales along the way, including photos and video footage of the journey each day.
